Silvery Cereals based in Tweedmouth industrial estate are a specialist cereal manufacturing business, rapidly expanding with international trade. With this expansion they required additional manufacturing space to meet demand.
GMC were invited in at competitive tender stage to act as main contractor. On successful tender GMC actually worked with the project team and reduced the overall cost of the project by re-engineering the sub-structure.
As part of the project GMC acted as main contractor carrying out all C.D.M regulation work.

GMC carried out all the engineering work on site including steel reinforcement work, preparing shutter and cage work before large concrete pours were executed. GMC were pouring between 110 – 140m of concrete on a regular basis.
GMC worked alongside Thorburns of Duns carrying out the steel frame erection and insulated cladding to roof and walls.
Silvery Tweed cereals continued to operate throughout the contract. The two separate businesses worked alongside each other respecting each other commitments to trade and health and safety for both businesses to strive forward during the construction phase.
GMC finished the project on time and to budget and Silvery Cereals remain a valued customer to this day.
